November 3rd 2018 Opening Weekend Morning Hunt (Tall 9pt Buck)

Opening morning of the 2018 season.  Weather was perfect.  Low 60's, clear sky, no wind, cool and still.  The deer movement was slow in the morning.  I saw two doe that spotted me immediately then took off.  Then I saw this 9pt buck who got spooked by my Nikon P900 camera.  Disappointing morning.....and later that evening I saw nothing at all! :(

November 5th 2017 Sunday Morning Hunt (Nice Buck)

Opening Sunday morning of the 2017 deer season.  Really warm temperatures, but on this morning there was a strong south wind with what looked like the possibility of rain.  I watched a nice 9 point buck with a smaller buck.  Also there were a couple of doe out on a full moon morning where the deer were out pretty much the whole time.

November 4th 2017 Saturday Morning Opening Weekend Hunt (Big 9 And 10 Point Bucks)

Opening weekend of 2017 Saturday morning hunt.  I watched these two bucks eat corn for a long time.  Might be the two biggest bucks I have ever seen out at once in the actual hunting season at our place, and the 10 is perhaps the biggest deer I have ever seen period at our ranch.  Really good deer for where we hunt!  Probably the hottest opening morning I can recall (upper 80's during day).  I had a ant issue in my deer stand, and no binoculars, but all in all possibly my best opening weekend ever in terms of seeing nice horns.  Just could have used some cooler weather to make it more comfortable....

October 28th 2017 Saturday Morning Hunt (Decent Buck)

Watched this buck eat corn pretty much all morning.  Also saw a couple of doe and two small 4 pointers that I didn't mess with videoing.  This was the hunt I realized the Nikon P900 zoom motor is just too slow and load for deer video purposes.  This was the Saturday before opening Saturday of rifle season so I really wanted to sit to make sure everything was ready to go.  Cold 39 degree sunny clear and still morning.

November 24th 2016 Thanksgiving Morning Hunt (Nice Buck) (and Northern Female Cardinal + Vesper Sparrow)

A perfect weather Thanksgiving morning that was cool, crisp and a clear 56 degree's after a front blew in the day before.  Deer moving pretty much all morning after my feeder threw at 7:00am.  The first deer in this video is a pretty nice deer for where my stand is located.  Also saw 3 other bucks that were smaller and more average type deer for our place.

Also captured on video this Female Northern Cardinal, as well as a still shot of the male.

And this bird, that I think to be a Vesper Sparrow or if not perhaps a Savannah, Song, or Field Sparrow.

November 6th 2016 Morning Hunt (Small Buck and Good View Of The Nice Broken Antler Buck) (and Eastern Phoebe)

Morning visit to my deer stand.  Weather still a little to warm for what it should be on opening weekend.  That said the sky was a little clearer and the temperature a little cooler than the morning before.  Deer started moving later in the morning, and I ended up getting a nice long look at the broken antler buck who is pretty nice for where I hunt.

Also lots of good bird action this day, with the highlights being this Eastern Phoebe.

November 5th 2016 Morning Hunt (Small Buck and Nice Broken Antler Buck)

Morning visit to the deer stand between Weimar and La Grange, Texas on November 5th 2016 using my Nikon P900 camera.  Opening morning of 2016 deer season.  Weather still relatively warm, but deer action pretty decent.  The large buck in this video is one of the best I have had the experience of videoing at our ranch.

August 6th 2016 Morning Hunt (Small Buck) (Taken W/ Nikon P900)

Morning visit to the deer stand between Weimar and La Grange Texas on August 06th 2016 using my Nikon P900 camera.  This was the first time I had gone into the woods to visit the stand and video in 2016.  Still pretty hot out, and for the most part a boring hunt with the exception of this one buck I saw.

November 27, 2015 Evening Hunt (Bobcat) (Taken W/ Iphone 5s)

Evening visit to the deer stand on November 27th 2015 with no camera.  Sure enough I saw a bobcat as close as I ever have in all of my years of hunting and wildlife videoing.  This was the best I could do - which was to take video with my iphone 5s.  This hunt reminded me of how much more fun and beneficial it is to sit with a good quality camera that has a zoom of some sort.  For my blog followers out there please comment and let us know what camera you carry with you while you are in nature? December 14, 2015 Morning Hunt (Two Average Bucks Eating At Feeder / Eastern Meadowlarks)
